Chris Brown sucks up Doublemint Chewing gum ads after getting suspected to have beaten Rihanna

The commercial world gets extremely realistic and takes serious actions against the celebrities who have their image broken. A few days ago, it was Michael Phelps, Olympic superstat swimmer which got Kellogg’s to end their sponsorship with him after he’d admitted smoking bong. And now is Chris Brown, who was arrested and suspected to have beaten up the GF, Rihanna on the night of the Grammy Awards 2009.

The chewing gum maker, DoubleMint announced last summer, the “pop sensation” was their new face. And today, due to a domestic violence case that Chris Brown is involved, the company straightaway puts the campaign on indefinite hold.

Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown. We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen. However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved,” the William Wrigley Jr. Co. said in a statement.

A Doublemint commercial featuring Brown ran during Sunday night’s Grammy Awards. By that time, many viewers knew that Brown, 19, was facing arrest on suspicion of making criminal threats stemming from an alleged assault on his girlfriend, the singer Rihanna. Some who saw the commercial were sounding off online today.
