
While a 3G smartphone is not sufficient to meet the speeds you need, a 4G LTE phone will be the answer. Samsung has announced its first LTE phone for MetroPCS, which is known as Samsung Craft or SCH-r900. It’s currently dubbed as the first commercially available LTE mobile phone, which supports LTE, multi-mode and CDMA networks.
The Samsung Craft doesn’t come too expensive, is priced at $299 only after a $50 instant rebate. The handset has various goodies including a 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with WVGA resolution, a sliding QWERTY, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, panorama and mosaic shots support, HTML browser, 165MB internal memory and a microSD card slot (up to 32GB). The handset also sports GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity and a 1500mAh battery which gives about 6 hours of talk time.
It also comes included with a 2GB microSD card and preloaded with Paramount Pictures’ Star Trek. For frequency bands, the Samsung Craft supports CDMA2000 1X, CDMA2000 EV-DO Rev. 0, LTE, AWS band 1700/2100MHz. The 4G LTE service is now available in Las Vegas and can be subscribed with a plan that costs you $55 per month.
