Samsung has added two more colors, pink and purple in its DualView digital cameras, ST600 and ST100, which any one of them should be your favorite color, especially the pink. The DualView digicams have two screens, a small color LCD on the front and a big LCD on the back.


Both cameras pack a 14.2MP sensor, 5x optical zoom, 3.5-inch back touchscreen and 720p video recording capabilities and they’ve also got their front LCD upgraded from the 1.5 inches to 1.8 inches. These new LCDs can be activated by a simple tap. Both ST600 and ST100 pack the Schneider KREUZNACH lenses. The ST600 has a more powerful 27mm wide-angle focal length with a 5x optical zoom, while ST100 has an internal, 5x optical zoom.

The ST600 is priced at $329 and will be available in September in black and purple. Surprisingly, the ST100 is even more expensive at a price of $350 and will come in pink and black.

Pentax has a rainbow-color digital camera in its line, the Rainbow K-x which is the product of the team-up between Pentax and Tower Records. Tower Records have had good record in the past that they’ve teamed with various other brands, to have produced products with big hits including Coleman, Marmot, XXX, and Keen and items such as chair, hat, rain coat, sun glasses, etc. And this time, it’s the Pentax camera.


Unfortunately, the Penxtax Rainbow K-x will only be available in Japan and for a limited quantity of 1,000 units only. If you want one, you’d have to get someone to ship it to you from Japan. The Rainbow K-x costs you about $806 a unit.

The Sony Cybershot DSC-W350 has got a baby pink model , refreshed with a new make-over with flowers and crystals, that makes it more appealing to girls. The new Sony Cybershot DSC-W350 model is now covered with pink floral design as well as being decorated with complimenting Swarovski-style crystals.

This Sony camera also comes included with a matching pink case with a floral trim. This new model is available as a limited edition. Besides the new design with flowers and crystals the innards remain the same, where it packs a 14.1 megapixel ccd sensor, 720p HD video mode, 2.7 inch LCD screen, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 4x optical zoom lens and and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization. It’s priced at $259 CAD.

The ST5500 is equipped with WiFi capability, whereas the ST5000 isn’t. The ST5500 allows you to directly upload your photos to a PC or online photo sharing sites or email to friends via the WiFi network.


Both models come with 14.2 megapixel sensor, sport 7x optical zoom, 3.7-inch AMOLED touch display, 720/30p (H.264) HD video recording capability and HDMI out.

The Kodak EasyShare M580 comes with a 14 megapixel sensor with a 28mm 8x optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD screen, and it has face recognition capability with a good memory to memorize up to 20 faces and recognizes them correctly and automatically.

The M580 camera is also capable of video recording at HD 720p resolution, has internal memory of 64MB and SD/SDHC card slot. The Kodak EasyShare M580 digicam is now available for pre-order at the price of $200 and will be shipped on April 23.

Sony has announced their latest rugged digital camera, Cyber-shot DSC-TX5, which comes in a super slim and compact case. Although the slim and compact size that makes it look more like a girly gadget, but it’s actually been made to withstand various harsh environments. Such as it’s waterproof down to 10 feet for up to an hour, survive drop of about 5 feet and it can keep shooting at temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit and some more it’s dust-proof.


The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX5 camera is meant for adventurous girls. It can be used to shoot those awesome panorama shots under water, especially handy while you go snorkeling. Samsung has launched the ES55 digital camera, comes in pink and is made specially for girls. This camera also comes equipped with the Beauty shot mode which makes the facial skin of the girl in the picture to show Barbie-like glow.

The Beauty-mode is simply what the camera’s capability to adjust the contrast automatically to smoothen the facial features. The specs of the ES55 camera include a 10-megapixel sensor, face detection and auto exposure.

Along with the ES55, Samsung has also rolled out a black camera, WB500, which comes with more or less similar features, but it doesn’t have the Beauty shot mode. Since it comes in black, it’s better for the boys. The WB500 is equipped with a 10x optical zoom with a 24mm ultra wide lens for high quality picture taking. Samsung also bundled high-def movie and capture and dual-image stabilization, which allows the boys to shoot great pictures even under low-light condition.

The ES55 camera is to cost $140 and the WB500 is likely to cost $330 and they should be available in mid of Feb this year.
